How do you pronounce Saoirse?
A: Saoirse is Irish for “freedom”, and can be pronounced SUR-sha, SEER-sha, or SAIR-sha. Just to be confusing, T-E-C’s Saoirse will answer to all three, because, hey, at least you made an effort. It’s not Say-Oi-Arse.
Searching the net will likely tell you its pronounced SUR-sha, because that’s how actress Saoirse Ronan says it. T-E-C’s Saoirse has been around longer than Ms. Ronan’s fame, however, and prefers the SAIR-sha or SEER-sha pronunciations.
