Things are really stressful in T-E-C land these days – all because of work. Stressful enough that we’re considering quitting. Our council has decided to give the work situation one more month. Come September 1st, if things still really suck, we’ll become willfully unemployed.
If we go that route, we’ll have to take time off to work on our physical health. Right now, we depend on our Mom & stepdad for a lot of the physical day-to-day stuff, which works because they live 10 minutes away. However, to become employed again, we’ll likely have to move back into the city, at which point we really need to be able to fend for ourselves.
Fortunately, we have the financial means to get by without a job for a while. We don’t want to do it because it will basically mean raiding our retirement savings… but given our physical health, chances of making it to retirement age are slim, so that may not be the worst thing in the world.
So, what does this mean for the .cafe? It will stay up, regardless. The difference being we may be a lot more active soon, and we may have to implement an optional tip jar of some kind.
August is likely going to be insanely busy in our work world, so you may not see much of us for a little while. But that will change, one way or another – either work will become less insane, or we’ll leave.
